What is wet cupping?
Wet cupping is when the skin is cut using a small blade and toxic blood is sucked out from the body using suction via a cup and pump.
It is a physical detox of the body.
It has the same benefits of body massage where we break down the toxins using our hands and massage medium which aids lymphatic drainage, then we give after care advise the client to drink plenty of water, which helps flush out the toxins via our bodies natural detox system and urinary system.
Even though the benefits are the same as massage, the technique is quite different. Whereas the massage can be relaxing, Wet Cupping can be a little scary, especially if the client has never had the treatment done before. As well as using the lymph system we also manually pull out the toxin loaded blood to give the client instant detox of that area.
It is also very similar to acupuncture where needles are inserted in the body to relieve pressure in the body.
We are essentially cutting the body to trick the immune system to start the healing process, when the brain sends signals to the blood about the trauma being caused around the body, the blood takes all of the healing blood cells (plasma) to the area of the cuts to begin the clotting and healing process.
Before the plasma gets to the cut to begin the healing, it has to push past the toxic blood therefore it pushes it out the open wound and heals up the skin behin150
