What is Meditation?
Meditation is a workout for the brain. The brain is a vital organ in our body, and is around 60% fat.
The brain has an estimated 100 billion neurons and an estimated 100 trillion neural connections!
This is a lot of messages the brain can send to the rest of the body.
Buddhist monks call our brain a monkey mind, they explain is as a naughty monkey on a sugar high, with maybe some skates on.
Meditation is a way to train the brain to focus on one thing at a time. Meditation helps us to narrow attention right down to the here and now. it teaches us to stop thinking about what happened yesterday or even this morning and it helps us to not try to predict the future.
Remember all we have is the here and now.
